Fender / Precision Bass / 1963 / White / Bass For Sale
Now available on consignment, a well played 1963 Fender Precision Bass with a body only refinish.
This bass has definitely seen some gigs in its life, having had an older body refinish in white performed long ago. It retains most of its original parts including the split-coil black bobbin pickup which remains healthy and untouched, the reverse tuners, knobs, string tree, strap buttons, bridge plate, and threaded saddles.
The neck finish and decal remain original with no finish work, and the original frets and nut remain and play decently despite significant play wear and a level in the past. Work to the bass includes:
- The truss rod was shimmed by Sydney luthier Piers Crocker, the neck is fairly straight and plays great however there is little adjustment.
- The pots and capacitor have been replaced with modern parts.
- The pickguard and screws are modern replacement parts.
Despite the changes this bass is a great player with a medium weight, and a comfortable chunky C shape neck profile that feels great in hand.
Includes a later export case in decent shape.
