Fender / STRATOCASTER / 1964 / Lake Placid Blue (refin) / Guitar For Sale

I have made it a point to seek out refin Strats and had 6 in the last 2 years. They were all really good vintage sounding guitars but a couple really stand out. This 1964 is if not THE ... one of the most fun, best sounding, playing and looking of the whole lot!! With ALL older Pre CBS features including an INSANELY CLEAN GREEN GUARD, CLAY DOTS AND SPAGHETTI LOGO, **** AND look at that BRAZILIAN BOARD!! The Lake Placid Blue was done by Mark Jenny and is extremely authentic down to a slight yellowing of the lacquer here and there giving it that "beginning to fade to turquoise effect. Please see pre refin pics ... no routs!!! The guitars is almost completely original with a very few and small exceptions. Original ... 3 gray back, pick ups, tuners, serial # backplate,Guard, 2 of 3 pots, capacitor jack and plate and all knobs. Frets are orig with a good deal of life left. Weighs in at a nice light 7 lbs 5 oz's. Even the early blond case is there although 1 end has some issues but is still very viably strong and still hip enough to make it just that much cooler! What is not original are not major issues.  the nut has been replaced, it had a 5 way switch, 1 volume pot is replaced and though the trem block appears to be correct the top plate and saddles are an incredibly accurate assembly made by Montreux.  The neck profile is really fast with a less bulky feel than the '63 big neck but not skimpy either due to just  hint of an elliptical profile or as we often call it a "V neck". The end result is a really soulful and powerful Strat that looks SO good it makes you want to play it ... (or eat it) See pix of it's 1960s owner in it's factory Olympic White finish. Bares the neck date 2 AUG 64 B and the serial number is L49XXX. WHAT A GUITAR!!
