Fender / Stratocaster / 1964 / Surf Green / Guitar

1964 Fender Stratocaster, surf green. Made in USA, serial number L46904. This guitar has an old refinish on the body and a partial overspray on the neck. Had different tuners on, now slightly later Kluson Double Lines are mounted. September '64 neck date, clay dots on both the fretboard and the side dots. A pro refret make this a joy to play and the pickups are perfectly balanced and strong sounding (neck 5.87k, middle 5.88k, bridge 6.36k ohm). These early grey bobbins coincidentally have no date codes on the bottom, but an incorrect OCT 25 '65 yellow ink stamp on the top bobbin - these weren't used in the fall of '65 anymore so it's safe to say that someone had an interesting day when preparing the stamp and didn't know where to put them AND used a '65 instead '64 stamp. The pickguard (no extra holes drilled), tremolo arm, strap buttons, pickup springs, a few bridge saddle height adjustment screws and a vintage correct 3-way switch are also replacements. Extra string tree hole. Comes with its period correct black tolex, no logo Fender hardshell case. Weighs 3.6kg.

ON CONSIGNMENT, SOLD AS-IS.
