Now available, a late 1965 Fender Stratocaster in its original Olympic White finish.
This is a fantastic all original example of a custom colour Fender guitar, with transitional features like the small headstock, 'F' serial number plate, pearl dot inlays on an Indian rosewood fingerboard, and factory large frets (only seen in late '65/early '66).
The original duco Olympic White finish shows some checking and yellowing to the clearcoat, however remains in overall great shape with NO touchup or overspray. A previous owner has written their name in the neck pocket (see photos), and there is some shrinkage to the original pickguard.
The wiring appears to be all untouched with all 3x CTS pots dating to the 49th week of '65, the original grey bottom pickups dating to October, and the original 3-way switch is still in place. All of the hardware and plastics remain original to the guitar, and the neck dates to November making this example among the last with the small headstock.
The factory large frets play very well despite some wear, and the guitar is setup with 10-46 strings. Truly a great playing and sounding '65 custom colour Fender Stratocaster!
Includes its original clean Stamford export case, and original tremolo arm.
