A pre owned Fender Custom Shop Ltd edition 1956 Relic Stratocaster from 2016. There is little doubt that the more recent Fender Custom Shop relics have taken the quality and feel to a new level. The limited edition models take things a step further and this Ltd edition is a perfect example of how they are a cut above the usual ‘R’ serial number models.
This pre-owned example has seen very little use, a single owner guitar that remains in near perfect condition. It encapsulates the classic feel of a genuine 50s Fender while retaining modern playablity from it’s 9.5 radius and narrow jumbo frets. We’ve had this one set up by the Alex at South West Guitar works with a set of Daddario 9 – 42 strings, the frets are in superb condition. This strat is ready and waiting to be played, the tones from the hand wound CS 56 pickup set are sublime. The relic is verging on the heavy side, with the lacquer worn on the back of the neck for that super comfy satin feel.
When retailed in 2016 this guitar was sold for between £3200 and £3600 (in the UK) depending on the retailer.

Coffee House guitars is a new (for 2019) boutique guitar shop selling only used, high end American and Japanese guitars from the well known brands. The shop is owned and run by Julian Deverell who has been playing, buying, collecting and selling guitars for 25 years. The shop is based in the warehouse of The Regency Chess Company, a niche chess set business that Julian also owns.
The aim is to make available a good selection of lovely guitars that have been expertly set up and are at their optimum, frets dressed, polished and ready to rock! The shop is in a custom built coffee shop (hence the name) that serves only the worlds best speciality coffee. We may not be the worlds best guitar shop, but we certainly serve the best coffee you’ll find in any guitar shop in the world!
