Mark Knopfler is recognized today as one of the most influential guitarists of his generation. So it was only natural that Fender released a Signature Series of their legendary guitar in 2003. Featuring an ash body with the typical ’57 Strat outline and a vintage 62′-style C profile maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, this stratocaster takes up the attributes of Mark Knopfler’s mythical guitar in its aesthetics as well as in its sound.
Our guitar is from 2004, the second year of production of this rare serie, which beyond its serial number below a thousand is also noticeable by a denser Hot Rod Red finish, almost approaching the Dakota Red finish. A few small dents and minor scratches, some playwear, and small chips of finish around the neck plate, the beauty has obviously been cherished by its former owner, a great collector, and is delighted to celebrate its twentieth anniversary in the arms of a new musician. Our instrument has a lightly flamed neck and above all an absolutely spectacular rosewood fingerboard, with superb veins and patterns.
Comes with original tremolo arm and Tweed Fender case.
