1964 Fender Vibroverb AA763 with Original JBL D130F

Copenhagen Fine Guitars is pleased to offer this rare 1964 Fender Vibroverb, featuring the sought-after AA763 circuit and its original 15-inch JBL D130F speaker.

This is the Vibroverb Stevie Ray Vaughan fans look for. The short-lived 1964 black-panel, single-15-inch version became closely associated with Vaughan’s sound and remains one of the most desirable vintage Fender amplifiers among blues players and collectors.

This amplifier is not presented as having any direct connection to Vaughan, but it is the same model and 1x15 configuration so strongly associated with his celebrated tone. The original and exceptionally rare JBL D130F makes this particular example even more compelling.

The Vibroverb occupies an important place in Fender amplifier history, combining the company’s celebrated clean response with onboard spring reverb and vibrato. The 1964 version introduced the black control panel, AA763 circuit, and powerful single-15-inch configuration seen here.

The chassis carries serial number A 01653. The original tube chart is marked Vibroverb-Amp AA763 and carries the NB production code, dating the amplifier to February 1964.

The amplifier retains its original 15-inch JBL D130F speaker, Fender’s premium speaker option and a highly desirable component in its own right. Known for its efficiency, clarity, projection, and fast response, the D130F is an important part of the character associated with this version of the Vibroverb.

The cabinet, control panel, grille cloth, hardware, and speaker display the attractive ageing expected of a vintage amplifier that has been played and carefully preserved. The grille cloth shows some visible wear, while the black Tolex, chrome hardware, control panel, and knobs remain well presented overall.
