Gibson / Custom Shop L00 Madagascar Adirondack One-Off / 2006 / Guitar

Gibson was a pioneer in the development of small body guitars in the beginning of the 1900s with its "L-Series Small Body" acoustics. These smaller Gibsons deliver a tonality that is best described in Gibson's 1934 catalog as a sound of "perfect balance." TFOA's owner, Rudi, developed this one-off, and therefore extremely rare, L-00 with Gibson Europe and Ren Ferguson in 2006. Ren made sure that this guitar was made with the original molds used for the legendary L-00's made in 1933. Although you can not be mistaken that we are talking about an L-00, it doesn't stay entirely true the 1933 model and there in lies its strength. In addition, it contains the label of a Blues King which creates some confusion, but fortunately that is no more than just a mistake. The body consists of Madagascar rosewood back and sides, with an astounding figure, and is paired to an Adirondack spruce top. The body is dressed in a vintage sunburst finish and includes vintage appointments such as a rectangle rosewood bridge, double cream binding and a lacquered mocking style tortoise pickguard that already features wonderful weatherchecking and comes awefully close to the original. The Honduran mahogany neck features a rounded shape and a rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays and is completed by a bone nut and a Script Gibson logo. The tone contains that typical L-00 warmth and strength in the lows and mids, and blends it with the wonderful deep and complex tone that arise when you pair Madagscan rosewood to Adirondack spruce and creates an impeccable tone with a beautiful balance. Flash forward to 2020, were it was professionaly repaired and set up at the trusted hand of one of our luthiers. The binding on the bottom side has been repaired and includes a touch up around the binding. The condition is very good with just a couple of light traces and dings. She has been set up with a fresh set of 012 strings and plays perfectly.  Specifications Body Shape: Blues King  Finish: Vintage Sunburst Body Material: Solid Madagascar Rosewood Top Material: Solid Adirondack Spruce Lefty No Body Details: Creme body bindings, black/white rosette Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: Modified V-profile Fingerboard Material: Rosewood Fingerboard Radius: 12” Neck Details: Pearloid dot position markers & Robert Johson inlay on the 17 & 18th frets. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
