Gibson / EBO Bass / 1959 / Faded Cherry Red Finish / Bass

The Gibson EBO Bass was invented in 1952, w/a Violin shaped body & was not a very popular Bass. The 2nd series of EBO replaced  the original Violin Bass w/a Les Paul shaped double cutaway style as a lighter weight alternative to the heavyweight 1st series model. This EBO started out as their entry level model w/1 large Black Humbucking pickup that’s become a favorite of players worldwide. This example is the last of the best EBO’s from 1959 prior to changing yet a 3rd time w/the later SG shaped body. Its beautifully faded see-thru Red finish is what this is all about. Its 1 piece mahogany body & neck feel delicious. Its black single-laminated pickgard shows very well. She has her original pots dated to 1959 w/a pair of cool black bell shaped knobs. Its all nickel hardware is faded a bit as expected. Its got 1 extra strap button added on its cutaway. It’s still sporting its original Kluson open back tuners. This is a great Bass for that guy that wants to enjoy it for the next 62 years ! She’s 100% original & comes in its original Brown tolex soft case.
