Gibson / ES-335 / 1965 / Cherry Refin / Guitar For Sale

Stunning 1965 Gibson ES-335 TDC for your delectation…

This is a very nice example. The body and neck have been refinished, extremely nice job and it's in excellent condition.

The neck, which has the 43mm nut feels very comfortable in the hand. There are no signs of breaks or any other repair work. The fretboard has survived well with very little signs of wear. This goes for the frets that have plenty of life left in them. Tuners are later Grover examples.

Plastics and hardware are in good condition. The pickup rings are correct though the neck ring is slightly warped. The covers are later chrome plated covers.

Electrically there has been some mods but the correct pickups look to be untouched (aside from the aforementioned covers). The additional pickguard suggests that there has been some slight modifications to the electrics to possibly add a master volume.

The guitar comes with a correct Gibson black tolex hardshell case which is in good condition.

All the touchstone tones are present here, the Patent Number pickups delivering as you’d expect. The sound is authoritative without being too heavy in the lower midrange. The bridge pickup barks when encouraged whilst the neck pickup is all kinds of smooth without losing definition.

Sometimes only an ES-335 will do. Grab this one before it gets away…
