Gibson / ES225T Sunburst / 1959 / Guitar For Sale

Feast your eyes on this, a stunning original Gibson ES-225T from 1959. The ES-225T was introduced in 1955 as one of the first thinline models from Gibson, in appearance it is much like a slightly fancier 1960s ES-125TC with a different tailpiece. This one pickup version might not be as popular as the two pickup version, but the unique placement of the single P90 pickup in the middle of what would normally be considered the neck and bridge position gives the guitar it's own distinct tonal character. Very well suited for jazz, blues or even rock'n'roll. Only 716 ES-225T's were made in -what turned out to be the last production year- 1959. In great, Very Good condition for it's age, well kept with weather checking in the original finish, has had a refret (not recent), frets are in good nick. Also noteworthy is that the tailpiece and knobs are still original where most other specimens have had it replaced. Other features include a single pointed cutaway, fully hollow body construction, 1 P-90 pickup (7,6K) with black cover, trapaze bridge/tailpiece combo with strings looping over bridge, floating 3-ply pickguard (replacement), single bound top, back and rosewood fingerboard, kluson-style closed back tuners (newer), pearl dot fingerboard inlays, pearl logo and sunburst finish. Included is the original hardshell case for posterity and a newer hardshell case for safekeeping. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
