Now available on consignment, a 1958 Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster in its original sunburst finish.
This is a well-used example of one of Gibson’s top of the line electric archtops, featuring a flamed maple front, back, sides, and neck, as well as a rosewood fingerboard.
Other features include a four position selector switch - original, 3x humbucking pickups - replaced, and 6x knobs - knobs & pots replaced. The tuners and tune-o-matic section of the bridge is also replaced, however the foot & thumbwheels are original. As well as this it retains its original pickguard & bracket, tailpiece, and frets.
Despite the fact this guitar has, regrettably, clearly been cannibalised at some stage, it has suffered no breaks or repairs, and retains its wonderful plump, rich, resonant tone, and the smooth, luxurious feel of a professional-grade, golden age Gibson.
A stunning late 50s Gibson, includes its original brown case.
