Gibson / ES5 Switchmaster Custom Shop / 2000 / Guitar

Gibson continued its efforts to improve the ES-5 model by modifying its circuitry in 1955 to take full advantage of all possible pickup combinations. The new circuitry was labeled by Gibson as “a new high in versatility,” and featured a total of six control knobs – one volume and one tone control for each pickup. With the addition of the pickups and a new four-way toggle switch, players had complete tonal control of each pickup and could select whether to play one, two, or all three at one time – or any combination of the three – simply by turning down the volume of the unwanted pickup(s). The new circuitry also elicited the model’s new moniker, the Switchmaster.  However, the current ES-5 Switchmaster is only made with humbucker pickups. This is one of the few custom shop models made with P90 pickups, which are also the first models with P90s made since 1956. Furthermore, this ES-5 has a high-quality maple top, back and sides, and its distinctive fully proportioned body: 17-inch wide, 21-inch long and 3 3/4 cm deep. The golden hardware, including an ABR-1 bridge, is also striking - especially the artistically designed trapeze-style tailpiece. The maple and walnut neck of the ES-5 has a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays and multi-layered white and black binding. This Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster is in excellent used condition. The top is very clean with some minor dings and traces of use on the top and in the end end pin area. This Gibson is currently without a case, but one has been ordered. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
