Gibson / Explorer Heritage Reissue / 1983 / Polaris White / Guitar

This is a very early Gibson Explorer “Heritage” Reissue by the Gibson Custom Shop in a factory Alpine White finish over its Korina wood construction. Its got a medium to full size Korina neck w/an unbound dot rosewood fingerboard. Its got 2 original “Tim Shaw” Humbucking Pickups that sound perfect. Its got its original untouched pots from 1983. Its very lightweight & its tone quality is unmistakable ! Its got all Gold hardware using a set of Schaller Tuners used only on this Explorer as Kluson stopped producing the proper type. Its got what appears to be a factory ordered Kahler Tremolo system a la the 80’s Hair Bands. Its trem arm & switch tip are in the case. Still sporting its original multi laminated Black pickgard w/Black Speed Knobs. Its neck/heel joint is solid but experienced a shock at one time cracking the finish around this heel area yet having no negative effect on its structure & playability. It has only touch up in these areas + an extra strap button hole. It is in excellent condition otherwise showing a good amount of patina & play time wear. Incredibly comfortable & its the first series of the new Korina Gibson Explorer after it was discontinued in 1959 ! Comes in its original black/red lined square hardshell case.
