Cool guitar, rare color, cool weight (8 lbs, 13 oz), full neck and friggin' staggering tone. This guitar has been endowed with a new harness from the fine fellows at Martin Six String Customs and man, it makes all the difference in the world. Smooth, precision taper on both the tone and volume knobs and the NOS 70's Aerovox paper in oil caps are top of the line. Lee flipped out when he plugged her in and if we had our way, we'd upgrade every Les Paul we sold with one of their harnesses. We just cannot believe the difference a custom pot/cap rig makes. You can really tell the difference when doing swells or backing off the volume to get a clean tone. Makes me wonder why Gibson hasn't explored a more performance- oriented wiring setup for the Historic and Custom Shop 'Pauls they produce. I guess if Chevrolet ever reintroduces the Vega, they can slap a supercharged V-6 in them and you'll understand what I'm squalkin' about.
