Gibson Historic Division / '59 RI Flying V / 2001 / Korina / Guitar

Now this is the kind of guitar that get us stirring around here in the 'Elkcave. This '01 Korina V is from the Gibson's Custom Shop and is part of a low production number run that rarely comes up for sale on the open market. Even rarer still are the black appointments- most of these guitars came equipped with white pickguards and input jack rings, but we think the black is cooler, so here she is in 'Elkland for all to see. These Korina V's always sound great and lend an "old- school" vibe to what you happen to be playing. The look and the tone, they both harken back to those glory days before Nirvana was all over MTV 24/7. I spoke to the nation's leading authorities on Flying V's and was told that at the time this guitar was produced, Gibson was only making about 100 V's and Explorers (in total) per year due to the lack of good wood being available. The weight on this beauty is also great at 7 lbs, 14 oz. As a context, the first Korina V made in 1982 is currently for sale at a price of 25k, so by comparison, this guitar comes in at a price that could be considered a virtual steal! This collector's package comes complete with the OHSC, care kit, COA and tags- just the way we like it. We try our best on a daily basis to bring you the rarest, coolest and most collectible guitars to be found anywhere in the Southeast. Now you might see a few "regulars" thrown in for good measure, but for the most part, we want what you won't find at the mega- Wal chain stores and there's more neat gear coming in daily. Please always fee free to pick up the phone for a courteous in- hand description. We love guitars and we love to talk about them- give us a ring and see for yourself. Our humble gratitude goes out to L.M. for the great info- many thanks, Brother!
