Gibson / Hummingbird / 1969 / Cherry Sunburst / Guitar

This is a 1969 Gibson Hummingbird in very good condition. This guitar is exceptional in many ways. First of all the sound , typical for a vintage Hummingbird. The guitar has a massive spruce top and massive Honduras mahony back and sides. The combination of those tone woods gives the Hummingbird its typical warm - woody vintage character. Gibson Hummingbirds from the sixties have become a rarity especially in Europe. Not many of them made it over the Atlantic. Keith Richards recorded many of his famous songs with his beloved Gibson Hummingbird, for example Angie. It's a guitar he takes along with him both on stage and in the studio. This particular Gibson Hummingbird also belonged in a previous life to a professional studio - musician from the Presley era , "Munsell" , who's name is stamped on the top.

It's that type of guitar you fall in love with the moment you touch and play it ! A very resonant and mature sounding guitar.

Beautiful square shouldered dreadnaught. Beautiful headstock with crown peghead inlay, pearl logo , original tuners with pearloid keystone tune buttons. Mahogany neck with bound indian RW fretboard and double parallellogram inlay. Low action, excellent playability. Scale length = 645 mm - Nut width 40 mm. Beautiful cherry sunburst finish (+ checking). Normal playware, no cracks. There's a hole in the left lower bout (side) where a pick-up was once installed. Original Hummingbird pickguard. Original indian RW belly below bridge with adjustable bridge saddle.

Comes with non-original Hard Shell Case.
