Gibson / J-45 (Banner) / 1944 / Sunburst / Guitar

Great wartime Gibson flattop, most likely made by the Kalamazoo Gals in the Gibson factory at the end of World War 2.

FON on the neck block: 2482

The front of the headstock bears the Gibson script logo with the typical banner

The tuners are newer vintage style replacements.

Beautiful sunburst finish. The finish is all original.

Chunky and comfortable maple neck topped with an unbound RW fretboard with pearl dot inlays.

The guitar has had a neck reset in the past. Action is low and comfortable. Has had a refret. Frets are in good condition.

This banner J-45 has a mahogany top and mahogany back and sides,

Original teardrop pickguard

Original - reglued - rectangular RW bridge with 2 pearl dot inlays and black bridge pins. Original small maple bridge plate.

This authentic and original guitar has tons of vibe and mojo. It belonged once to a musician called The Texas Drifter, We added a Youtube recording and a newspaper clipping in the pictures. The guitar sings and is very resonant with deep basses , present mids and characteristic trebles.

The guitar is in good shape for its age. Beautiful finish crazing on the top. It has a crack on the top (below the bridge) and a few cracks on the sides. They have been glued. A small hole is filled, where once the output of a pickup (now removed) was mounted.

The guitar comes with its original case with plush purple inner lining.
