Instrument Description:
Of Gibson's LG models, the LG2 was the only model that was also made during World War II. This smaller Gibson model falls between the J45 and Gibson's L00, making it a comfortable guitar with a very responsive and balanced sound that can be used for strumming as well as fingerstyle. In addition, this LG2 also has a large volume that it has to offer. This Gibson LG2 from 1952 has had a turbulent life, during which various repairs have been carried out to keep the instrument optimally playable. The guitar has undergone a neck reset and refret, and the bridge has been re-glued. Furthermore, some cracks have been repaired and some braces have been glued again. The back of the body has a re-glued center seam and is provided with some decorative elements and a sunburst finish. An extra vertical bracing has also been applied on the inside to ensure the guitar's stability. The tuners and the bridge saddle have also been replaced on the guitar, but the original pickguard is still present. All this has resulted in a very playable LG2 with the dry, vintage sound that characterizes the instruments from this period. The guitar comes in a non-original vintage case that has seen better days, but is still functional. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood.
