The Gibson Corporate Offices were ahead of the curve in many ways when they finally started listening to their vintage oriented dealers on what their customer base was looking to buy. In 1978 Gibson introduced this highly figured, well-appointed Gibson Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary model made to commemorate 25 years of the Les Paul model guitar and 50 years of Les Paul being in show business. Its Dark Sunburst finish is deep & rich showing off one of the best Flamey Maple Tops ever on a 25/50. Its mahogany body It also incorporates a 5 piece mahogany/walnut neck, an ebony fingerboard w/split block inlays & a highly ornate headstock inlay. It has a mix of Gold & Chrome parts all over every componant. She’s sporting a set of really powerful Humbuckers that sound insane ! She’s got a coil tap switch & fine-tuning TP-6 tailpiece. Its pots all date to the 25th week of 1978 & still retain its aluminum diamond shaped cover plate in its larger cavity. Its Gibson by Schaller tuners hold tune perfectly. She’s been played a bit having some ding-age here & there but its patina is lovely. Overall she’s excellent & comes in its original Black/red lined Tolex Hard Case.
