The Gibson Les Paul Collector’s Choice #17 "Louis" is a stunning recreation of an original 1959 Les Paul Standard that remained in a private collection for over 30 years. This guitar was personally selected by Keith Nelson of Buckcherry from six original '59 Bursts after extensive testing. It became his go-to guitar, featuring on Buckcherry’s 2013 album Confessions and accompanying him on every live show since.
Thanks to Keith’s collaboration, Gibson Custom meticulously analyzed every aspect of the original to create a perfect reproduction. From the faded Dirty Lemon Burst finish and the iconic 1959 neck profile to the authentic PAF-driven tone, this Collector’s Choice model delivers all the sonic depth and feel that have made vintage Bursts the most sought-after electric guitars in history.
This particular example stands out as one of the best Collector’s Choice models, cherished by both players and collectors alike. It has incredible resonance and sustain, with a vibrant response that makes it a true pleasure to play. The guitar has been enjoyed, but remains in fantastic condition both visually and sonically.
