The modern 2023 "Standard” Les Paul models are designed to bring the authenticity of Gibson's "Golden Era" back to life, featuring no modern weight relief and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. They are built with a solid mahogany body and a maple top, a classic tonewood combination that provides rich resonance and sustain. This specific model features typical 50s appointments like the chunkier neck and Burstbucker pickups. Les Paul Standards from that year feature hand-wired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors, a feature that purists appreciate for its vintage tone characteristics.
