Gibson / Les Paul Standard Sunburst / 1959 / Faded Ice Tea Burst / Guitar

1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard incl. original brown case

The holy grail of electric guitars - an all original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard in very good condition. It has an outstandig flame top with thick and wide flames. Most late 50's Sunburst Les Pauls have plain or very lightly figured maple tops so this is a rare exception. The color has faded to a beautiful Tea Burst shade. This guitar sounds incredible - for sure one of the best sounding 1959 Les Pauls we ever heard. When played thru an overdriven amp the notes break into beautiful overtones and it delivers rich harmonics. The balanced PAFs really scream if you want them to. The covers have been off before - the neck PAF is a double white and the bridge PAF has zebra bobbins. The guitar has a professionally repaired headstock crack (but the headstock has never been off - it was just a small crack that happened sometimes back in the 80s). The guitar has the typical weather checking and it has been played so it's got some honest wear but especially on the back of the body and neck. The neck profile is typical medium 59. Comes in it's original brown Gibson case.
