Gibson / Les Paul Std. R8 Aged 50th Anniversary / 2008 / Chery Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
This is a beautiful example of Gibson’s “Murphy Aged” 50th Anniversary of making the original 1958 Les Paul Std. & aged by the man himself, Mr. Tom Murphy, prior to his new Murphy Lab guitars by several years. Its faded Cherry’burst finish is quite lovely over an extremely real looking flamey maple top. Its see-thru cherry red back, sides & neck are brilliant utilizing some nicely figured mahogany. She’s equipped w/2 early factory PAF pickups both sticker dated on the 2nd day of June 2008. Its original pots appear dated to 2008 but not legible. She does have a long tenon in its top control cavity. She has 2 nice pickgards, 1 w/the 50th Anniversary logo still in the case & 1 stock cream pickgard on it currently. Its sporting a set of Kluson Deluxe tuners w/a nickel tun-a-matic bridge & stop tailpiece. Its only 9 lbs. 4 oz. Just in from its last caretaker. It is truly Near Mint (albeit aged beautifully by Tom) & comes w/a ton of case candy, its black COA booklet & tags all in its original black hard case.
