1966 Gibson Thunderbird IV Bass - Sunburst
Clean and all original 1966 Gibson Thunderbird IV Reversed Bass - Sunburst in excellent condition for its age (50years!). This is one of only 131 Thunderbird IV basses built in 1966, one of the most sought-after basses from the 60s. The bass has some minor playwear, mostly on the backside and edges of the body and some moderate weatherchecking typical for a 50 year old instrument. Otherwise it´s all original and there are no breaks to the neck or headstock which is quiet comon on these older Thunderbirds due to their fragile headstock construction. The electronic is all original, the two Gibson humbucking PUs deliver that deep, dark growl those basses are famous for and have well ballanced outputs of: Neck = 8,92 K-Ohm and Bridge = 9,19 K-Ohm. With its slim c-profile neck and a weight of only 3,98 Kg, this bass is very comfortable and fun to play! Comes in its original black Gibson hardshell case w/yellow interior.
