Hamer / Custom Standard ** ON HOLD ** / 1998 / '59 Burst / Guitar

Let me set what I imagine was the scene: Tommy Lee and his new band, Methods of Mayhem are preparing for their tour at Mates Rehearsal Studios in Hollywood around May of 2000. They're just jamming and getting the show together when the following may or may not have happened... Tommy: "Man, this Cort Deceiver sounds like crap. I need a better guitar". Tommy's Agent: "Well Champ, what do you want?" Tommy: "I want something that looks cool. I'm the drummer for Motley Crue and I gotta look cool. Believe that, Jack. Word to ya mother." Agent: "Well, hows about something pointy? Ibanez makes this thing called a Maxxas. It's for big- bottomed girls, if you get my drift." Tommy: "You talking 'bout my wife? You know I'm in love. I'll wear you out like a condom, son." The Band (snickering): Yeah, boy. He's talking about Pam, Tom. You gonna put up with that?" Vince Neil: "I saw a chicken leg sticking out of a guy's pocket in Atlanta and fell off the stage. Ain't that a bitch? Shout at the Devil, son." Tommy: "Hell no I ain't gonna put up with it. You see my belly, son? It says "Mayhem". I got mayhem on my belly and mayhem in my britches. I'm the man up in here." The Band (laughing): Hey Tom, we saw some maxxass in that video. It looked like you were whipping a bad kid with a belt. Whoo son, "mayhem in your britches" is putting it lightly!" Tommy (really red in the face): "Ya'll gonna make me...lose my mind. Up in here. All I asked for was a friggin' guitar and we end up yapping about my old lady hanging off the side of a boat with her commancheros flying around. You're all fired!" The Band: You can't fire us Pimp. We got a contract. Maybe you didn't read it 'cause you were "fishin" up on the lake. Oh snap, did we say that?" Agent: Calm down, Tom. Boys, you shut your yaps and get back to practice. Tom's the dang bawss up in here. Look, Tommy. I didn't mean anything by that comment. You want it , I'll get it. You da man and word to ya mother." Tommy: "You damn right I'm the man up in here. Hey man, did you see the video? How did I look? Did that hat make me look fat?" Agent: Oh hell no, Pimp. You were the man, up in there son. You had that boat rockin' and commancheros knockin'. Hey, what color do you want the guitar to be?" Tommy: "Call Hamer and make it '59 Burst. The weight distribution on their Explorers is one of the most balanced in the industry and the neck profile makes power chording virtually effortless. After that, call Azimut and check on the status of my Magellano." Whether drumming or playing guitar, you have to hand it to the man. He's seen and done it all and wouldn't any one of us like to be in those shoes, if only for a night? I know dang well I would. This guitar was delivered to him on May 11, 2000. Long story short, if you would like to have one of Tom's drums sets, but there aren't any available, you can have one of his guitars. That's where we come in...
