Hofner / 500/1 / 1964 / Sunburst / Bass For Sale
Now available on consignment, an original 1964 Hofner 500/1 Violin bass.
This is a great playing example of a mid 60s 500/1 'Beatle' bass, featuring a Spruce top, Sycamore maple back, sides, and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.
Work to the bass includes:
- Bridge pickup professionally rewound by Sydney luthier Piers Crocker.
- Professional re-fret and a new bone nut performed by Piers Crocker.
- Reissue Hofner bridge and replacement knobs/truss rod cover.
- Pots were replaced early in the basses life.
- The headstock logo has been replaced, and the serial number is missing.
Other than mentioned the bass remains in great playing condition still retaining both original pickups, tuners, and tailpiece. The neck is straight with a fully functional truss rod, and its currently setup with flatwounds. Other than mentioned the original parts remain except for the pickguard.
