Hopf is one of several instrument-building families or companies that recommenced operations in the Erlangen area of West Germany after having been deported from Czechoslovakia after WWII. These companies were surrounded by hundreds of thousands of American servicemen stationed in Germany as well as the rest of Europe.
GLASSL means the luthier name Gustav Glassl who contracted with the famous music instrument company HOPF and his work is wellknown for its special manufacturing. Not only the Glassl works, but also the other HOPF guitars have had the original shapes,
