Inspired from the traditional Oud, Jeffrey created the ‘Gambustar’ with a more stable guitar-like body and tuners instead of the pegs for easy tuning. Braced with a simplified scalloped X design, the sound is more refined in terms of clarity with a longer note sustain. The “Gambustar” is constructed with both conventional and exotic local tonewoods and is highly ornamented to make it a collectable and instrument of the highest quality to play with.

Luthier Jeffrey Yong made his
first guitar in 1985 from a DIY kit and from there; he has acquired an
insatiable passion and love for natural wood and the sweet sound that he can
conjure from his guitar masterpieces.

Each instrument is individually handcrafted by me is from the finest materials and appointed with premium parts. The time needed to complete each instrument is between 1 to 3 months.
Due to the very limited number of instruments made each time, the waiting period is approximately 6 months or more from the day of confirmation on your order.
