Ken Smith with Vinny Fodera / 1982 RG4 (BT4)
Column "Ken Smith and Electric Base Development"
"KEN Smith", which has developed the current electric basis since the start of workshop in 1978
Introducing RG4 (BT4) made in 1982 from such Ken Smith studio.
The SMITH base in 1982 was made by Ken Smith and Vinny Fodera, and Vinny was mainly in charge of molding and painting wood.
The appearance is quite different from the current Smith, and the square head metal plate, sheller peg
Before the development of the original bridge, the Badass bridge is mounted, and it is a specification that you can see the trend of the base scene at that time.
In terms of the sound, the center of gravity was set low compared to the current Smith, and I got the impression of a play with play.
Therefore, it does not specialize in jazz, but also has a character that fits pop/funk/rock.
Also, SMITH's synonymous with "Kerokero sound" can be tasted as much as the phase switch, and as KEN himself has said, it can be seen that this is the current Smith base basis.
The neck and electrical condition have been adjusted by our repairman and good
The neck is straight, and the string height is set to about 1.3 mm above 1.6mm 12F in the final fret.
It is one of the protroto standing positions before BT4 becomes an official model name.
It is very valuable to be able to experience the "Vinny Fodera" base before the FODERA workshop.
