Kevin Ryan / Nightingale Grand Soloist Sinker Redwood Indian Rosewood / Guitar

Founding luthier, Kevin Ryan, worked for the Southern California-based Northrop Aeroscience Lab when he prototyped his first guitar design. It was 1987. By day, he built jet fighter models for transonic wind tunnel testing. Late into the evenings, he worked on guitars, obsessively re-imagining the traditional aesthetics and sound of the iconic American instrument. The instruments he builds today contain many of those innovations. Lets gloss over a few to get an impression of the work that goes into making these guitars. The Engineered Laser Cut Bracing is strong and light for an exquisitely responsive soundboard. The Acoustic Honeycomb bridgeplate eliminates plate distortion and further reduces soundboard mass for iridescent tone. The spherically-Arched Bac combines the focus and comfort of a standard body with the powerful acoustic voice of a deep-bodied instrument. The Ryan Bevel provides the ultimate ergonomic comfort for long performance sessions, and with the Acoustic Flutes situated on bevel these elegant sound ports direct and reflect sound from the guitar’s interior toward the player’s ear. The Low Profile Neck features Ryan's proprietary micro-adjustable truss rod to support the ultra-rigid yet slim neck shape. The Extended Scale Length facilitates responsive string tension while the guitar is set in alternate tunings. And the list goes on and on and on. The Nightingale Grand Soloist is the most versatile model that Kevin Ryan makes. It has an articulate bass, iridescent trebles, and a warm, sustaining tone. She's incredibly balanced and has a string-to-string clarity and separation that makes her very suitable for fingerstyle and open/drop-tunings.  This specific model comes straight out of Ryan's workplace to our store and is built out of Indian Rosewood for the back and sides married to a sinker redwood top. She features the extended 25.7" scale length, an Upper Bout of 11.00", a Lower Bout of 16.00" and a standard nutwidth of 1.75" with a stringspacing of 2.25". Furthermore she has Gotoh 510 CK-7 tuners, a custom inlay package on the top and stunning multi-layered bindings and purlfings. To protect this precious instrument a world-class white Calton case is included with the sale.  Specifications Body Shape: Nightingale Grand Solist Finish: Natural Body Material: Solid Indian Rosewood Top Material: Solid Sinker Redwood Lefty No Body Details: Ebony armrest bevel w/ sound ports, ebony bindings, multi-layered purflings, abalone/pearl soundboard inlays, abalone rosette  Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: Slim C-shape Fingerboard Material: Ebony Fingerboard Radius: 16” Neck Details: Ebony headstock veneer, ebony back veneer, ebony/maple headstock bindings, abalone 12th fret inlay Nutwidth: 45 mm - 1 3/4" Scale Length: 655 mm - 25 13/16" String spacing: 58 mm - 2 1/4" Bridge: Ebony Tuners: Gotoh 510 Pickup None Condition: New                                                     Cosmetic Condition: None Modifications/, Repairs: None Tech Notes: None Travels in: Calton White hardshell case Accessories: None

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
