It is not just a preamplifier, but a pedal with a preamplifier/booster/compressor/upper harmonic enhancer! The tone combination can be adjusted in total by picking attack and guitar volume control. The amount of boost depends on the input signal level and the position of the HOT/COOL switching switch. The maximum value is about+10db in a low range, and the average value is about+6db.
