Martens / Deluxe Stratocaster / 1990's / Natural / Guitar

Not to much info can be found on Martens Guitars, other than that they are often associated with Dutch luthier Arie de Vocht who used to sell these at his workshop. I’m not to sure he is the actual builder of this fine guitar though. The scarce details I’ve managed to find indicate that Martens Guitars were actually handmade in Poland under German supervision. Apparently they sold for around €3.000,- new!

What I am sure of is that this guitar is built to very high standards, and offers a level of excellence you will only find on premium boutique instruments! All wood and hardware are top quality materials and the overall workmanship is simply impeccable. The two-piece body is made out of the finest grade of quarter sawn swamp ash, while the neck is made of a very attractive piece of birds-eye maple and sports a gorgeous Indian Rosewood slab-board. The locking tuners and hipshot bridge with roller-saddles are from Schaller and offer excellent tuning stability. As for the pickups, the guitar features a Seymour Duncan humbucker in the brigde-position, and two Dimarzio Virtual vintage hum-canceling single-coils for the neck and middle position.

There is some playwear here and there mostly few dings, and some superficial scratches predominantly on the pickguard, but overall this impressive Strat remains in very good condition. Also the Jumbo frets still have plenty of live left in them.

This is without a doubt one of the best sounding and playing Strat I’ve had in stock. I might actually keep it myself, but as long as the listing is up it’s still available.

All in all a very impressive Strat, and although It may not have a big name on the headstock (hence the price, a bargain really..), I’m sure that to any guitar connoisseur the features will speak for themselves..
