Martin / 00018 / 1948 / Guitar For Sale

Vintage guitars always give us an extra warm feeling here at The Fellowship of Acoustics, especially when they look and sound like this Martin 00018 from 1948! Even at the first glance you start to wonder what this guitar has been through in over 75 years, and how these stories can be told by the beautiful dry and lived-in sound of this guitar. The 00018 as we still know it today was introduced in 1934 when Martin switched from the 12 fret model to the 14 fret model. The model has remained in production ever since, and to this day remains a popular choice among musicians looking for an all-round guitar that excels at fingerstyle. The beautifully aged Adirondack top and mahogany back and sides provide a sublime sound: packed with character, with an open and clear sound with beautiful sustain. None of the modern processes that simulate aging can recreate the sound of a feather-light, vintage Martin; it just doesn't get much better than this! The guitar has endured quite a bit of abuse over three quarters of a century, and the enlarged Clarence White-style sound hole is immediately noticeable. Furthermore, the top has a repaired center seam crack and a repaired crack at the neck, as well as some repaired cracks and patches with overspray on the sides and back of the body. The guitar also has replaced tuners, a raised nut and a replaced bridge saddle. Finally, this 00018 has a piezo element and a strap button. This 00018 from 1948 is without a doubt a real player with character in both appearance and sound, and is a guitar that is in good condition, considering its age. The guitar comes with TFOA passport in a hardshell case. Played by Tom Punt | Demo Gear: Ear Trumpet Labs Evelyn Stereo Microphone

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
