Martin / D35 Brazilian Rosewood #215744 / 1966 / Guitar For Sale

The Martin D35 is known for its fascinating history. At a time when Brazilian rosewood was becoming scarce, Martin found an innovative solution by creating the back of the D35 using leftover pieces of wood that were too small for the D28. The result was a three-piece back that was not only striking but also delivered a deep and balanced sound that shines through perfectly when strumming and fingerpicking. But that's not all! The real magic lies in the lighter braces added to the Martin D35 back then, making this guitar renowned for its unparalleled bass response. The mahogany neck has a comfortable profile that flows from a C at the first frets to a soft V further down the neck, and is a true joy to play. This 1966 Martin D35 exhibits playwear and weather checking that are to be expected on a vintage instrument. The guitar is free of cracks, but has had a neck reset. Furthermore, the bridge saddle and bridge pins have been replaced, and a hole can be found on the heel from a strap button that was once installed. Another important detail of the guitar stands out: the gold-colored Grover Rotomatic tuners! None other than the respected American luthier John Arnold weighed in on this topic on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. He stated that the tuners, thanks to their patent number, date back to the same period as the guitar, but were not standard equipment on the D35 during that period. The first Martin with gold-colored tuners was the D45 in 1968, so Martin certainly had these tuners available during that period. Consignment.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
