Mc Nally / McNally S Spruce Purpleheart / Guitar

This McNally "S" model is one of the most interesting guitars we have seen. The reason for this is the beautiful, striking and exotic back and sides made of purpleheart wood. A special piece of wood, matching with a special guitar. Ciaran McNally is a young luthier who has been in the business for 13 years now. He aims to find a combination between the Irish and American style of building, as he previously learned at George Lowden Guitars and Atkin Guitars. He focuses, as he says himself, on the warmth and complexity of the Celtic guitars and wants to add the fundamental qualities of the great American guitars. And to be honest, he really nailed it with this spruce / purpleheart combination. The guitar has a special model. McNally calls this himself an "S" model, a model that lies between the measurements of an OM and Parlor. With a small body and a short scale length, the guitar is very similar to a Martin 00-14 Fretter. With a low bout of 360mm in width and a depth of 105mm in the body she is slightly thinner, but much deeper than the Martin 00-14 Fret which results in her maintaing a deep bass despite her smaller body. She has a European sound. Clear, sparkling with full and rich, grounded lower tones. What is special about this guitar is the use of the exotic purpleheart wood in the back and sides. A type of wood that sometimes appears as an accent line in a body or neck, but never really in the body. Purpleheart is a hardwood which makes it difficult to bend, all the more reason to declare this guitar unique! In terms of sound, this Central and South American wood type comes close in its sound to Bubinga wood, which is known to be beautifully balanced with a clear mid-tone and appealing bass tone. The combination with a beautiful piece of Sitka spruce gives the guitar a clear, high- end European sound. In addition to the special tonewood, the guitar has a high-quality full satin finish. She has a side dot pearloid inlay in the ebony fingerboard and a striking piece of ebony for the bridge. The head is not something to be ignored, because it is made of Bog Oak. A type of wood that has been preserved under a special bog for hundreds of years. The golden Gotoh tuner add a bit of 'flair' to the guitar. To conclude, this McNally "S" with Sitka spruce and purpleheart wood is definitely a "One-of-a-kind" high-end guitar! A special, unique sound as a result of the use of eccentric woods and workmanlike finish. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
