Frankie Montuoro Style 8 00 12-fret from 2011. Frankie's guitars are a rare sight indeed as he only builds around 10 to 12 instruments each year. His began in the 1980's when he moved to Los Angeles and began working at a vintage guitar facility. He worked on guitars used by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Peter Frampton to name a few. His journey went on and he worked with folks like John Stephan, a master craftsman from Palmer, Alaska with Houdini like skills. Later he took a position at Dusty Strings in Seattle and helped Bill Asher get through at least 200 guitars in dire need of restoration. Eventually he moved to San Juan Island on the Pacific to build his own instrument in his humble little shop amongst the trees. His principles for acoustics are inspired by what he has learned over the years through restoration work. This 00 12-fet model made in 2011 was made entirely with Larson Style 8 appointments with a select Honduran rosewood body, V-shaped mahogany neck with ebony veneer and "Floral Fall" abalone headstock inlay, Adirondack top with Adirondack bracing, green abalone purfling and Ivoroid bound sound hole, front and back edges bound with Ivoroid, top edges inlaid with green abalone purfling, ebony fingerboard bound with Ivoroid, group #4 pearl fingerboard markers (Combination of fancy pearl markers and pearl dots at 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15 & 17th frets), ebony bridge inlaid with pearl and Ivoroid pins accented with pearl, inlaid back stripe, select Waverly tuners and custom case. A great sounding instrument, that goes without saying with a very characteristic 12-fret sound reminiscent of the pre-war instrument is based on and inspired by. The price of this instrument is based on the fact that it needs some care and attention for an optimal setup; currently the neck is to hollow and since it has no built in truss-rod it will need a repair like a compression refret for example. Otherwise it looks very clean overall with some minor signs of use, a few small dings and other marks in the body, finish has cracked along the endpin wedge and fingerboard bindings, neck and headstock show several dings, newer frets are fine with some shallow indentations primarily in the first 3 positions. Besides that it has had a refret, a lacquer repair at heel/bass side and a lacquer repair along the bridge. A new similar instrument from Frankie Montuoro will easily cost you upwards of €8000. Included is the original hardshell case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
