Mosrite / Ventures / 1965 / Custom Color / Guitar

This is a 1965 Mosrite Ventures model Vibramute, SN# 1609, in tri-custom colors. The guitar was a Sales Model and was painted as such so that prospective dealers & buyers could see three colors at once without the sales person having to carry three guitars. We have never seen another one out there! The story behind the custom color guitars, i.e., the most sought-after models, is one for the books. Their demand and valuation humored former employees of Semie's when they were interviewed for the book "Vintage Mosrite". Custom guitars were born when Semie would send them out to collect any good pieces of wood they could find. The wood was then bound and built. These guitars HAD to be finished as custom color Mosrites to cover their patchwork build. Another special feature of this piece is that it has the VERY rare non-trademarked Mosrite pickups. The Mosrite Vibramute tailpiece is sandcasted as well. The guitar is in typical Sales Model shape. There are various dings and scratches but it is technically and structurally sound. The guitar weighs approx. 8lbs 2oz with a nut width of approx. 39.5mm and a fretboard radius of 10". Comes with its original brown gator hardshell case.
