Navigator / ´59 Replica LP-380 Tiger Striped / 1999 / Cherry Sunburst / Guitar For Sale

Very Good condition, 7/10, Weight is 4.27kg. Made in Japan, crazed finish, thin and tight tiger flames in the top, we have been in touch with a very knowledgable vintage MIJ guitar collector with about 10 Navigator LPS guitars from the 70s thru to 2012 who is also a member of the Fans of ESP Navigator Guitars Facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/316376975452261 and have gotten some great info as we had some problems dating this guitar, if you know more please reach out, we are grateful for all the input we can get here!

Here is the info: Since it has Japanese CTS pots the codes do not provide a date. The 5th digit in the serial number (25109639) is the year of the guitar and based on other details such as the headstock inlay, existence of a serial number, color of the back plastic covers, tenon, pick-ups, PU cavities and control cavity routing it can be narrowed done to 1999.

More specs: long neck tenon, all original parts, including original hardcase with logo badge and green lining, the CTS pots have the code CTS FN8446, original capacitors marked OIL made by Nippon Chemi-Con (a company with roots to the 1950s), creme plastic parts and pickguard, beefy neck with binding, dents and scratches all over, some belt buckle wear, some fret wear, the end strap button has been moved twice with extra visible holes, the pickups have chrome covers, glued in neck, black plastic on the back, more info: Navigator is probably the rarest and least well known of the Japanese Replica's, which is surprising as these are amongst the highest quality guitars from this period. It's important to realise that these were all made when ESP was a small, independent company.
