How rare are these Paul Reed Smith Employee Guitar. Our stunning 1990 Custom 24 has the Paul Reed Smith’s inscription “Custom built for Chuck Hurley”, who has been with PRS Guitars for over 30 years.
In 1990, the Custom 24 still had a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This is obviously the case for this magnificent Custom 24 Employee Guitar. The HSH electronics with a mini Sweet switch of tone and another mini switch which adds the single coil to the selections of pickups allows to obtain a bewildering number of combinations of pickups. The color is a mix between the usual Royal and Whale Blue from the 90s and the top is a Quilt Maple top with no visible binding. Superb manufacture, with the bird inlay on the fingerboard.
This guitar played quite a bit, with small scattered marks, stripes and playing wear, nothing abnormal, no deep dents, no visible wood, no noticeable damage. The frets have been contoured and polished, and are perfect, with super comfortable action. This neck is a real highway, a treat.
