Comments:
The 330 was part of the original "Capri" series and offered a simpler, more affordable option compared to the deluxe 360 models, lacking body binding and featuring a mono output. A significant update in the 1970s transitioned the guitar from a 21-fret neck to the 24-fret neck found on your guitar. This model became a staple in the British music scene, famously used by Pete Townshend of The Who and influencing countless "jangle-pop" bands like R.E.M. and The Smiths. This 1999 model falls within the "paddle" or "Gumby" headstock period (c. 1984–2007), which featured a wider headstock shape to accommodate larger tuners. The fifth control knob functions as a bass pickup volume equalizer or "blend" control, allowing the player to balance the output of the neck and bridge pickups in the middle position. The "Hi-gain" single-coil pickups on this model have a noticeably higher output than the vintage-style "Toaster" pickups, offering a fuller, less trebly sound than earlier models.
