The following instrument carries the same year and month of production as George Harrison's famed and fabled missing 360 12, which he used on many classic Beatles performances, including The Beatles last ever paid public concert at Candlestick Park San Francisco on 29th of August 1966. The above instrument was produced by the Rickenbacker Guitar Company in July of 1965 which was only 3-4 weeks prior to the presentation of a Rickenbacker 360 to George Harrison in Minneapolis in August 1965 so may be one of the magic 5 instruments that would have been shipped by Rickenbacker prior to the presentation in August 1965
History Of Presentation
At the end of this press conference on 21st August 1965, George Harrison is surprised as he was presented a Rickenbacker 360 electric 12-string guitar by B-Sharp Music, a local area guitar shop at the time. It was the second of this particular model of guitar that George was able to add to his collection. Harrison would play his new Rickenbacker on stage that evening. As George received the guitar, John Lennon smiled and joked: "That's fab, that! Where's mine?”
