1961 Rickenbacker 4000, mapleglo. Made in USA, serial number B9170. This bass is mostly original, with a few obvious changes. It features a non original pickguard and truss rod cover, most if not all of the screws were also replaced at one point. One non original strap button, non original knobs. There are a few extra screw holes underneath from previously mounted pickguards and truss rod covers. The bass was refretted at least once in its lifetime and the back of the neck was polished and/or oversprayed. The original horse-shoe pickup was recently remagnetized and sounds wonderful. The pots date to 1961, it has a maple neck and it's highest of the B91XX serial number ranges we've seen, making this one of the last original 'plank' style 4000 basses. Incredibly rare and exciting instrument! Comes with a hardshell case. Weighs 5kg.
