Schecter / Custom Shop Dream Machine 2 / 1996 / Guitar

The Schecter Dream Machine came to life with the thought to make the best S-style guitar. Schecter started out as a parts supplier and had virtually everything in stock. They used almost all types of wood for bodies and necks and sold different kinds of pickups and hardware. The sky was the limit, really. There was a big contrast between Schecter and Fender at the time, with Fender just using the same old recipe. Schecter therefore decided to make their own guitars with the very best parts and thus created real Dream Machines. Mark Knopfler was looking for a better quality guitar than his Stratocasters and was strongly convinced by the Dream Machines. Knopfler has a strong fanbase that has completely researched his entire collection of instruments and one of these guitars were his Dream Machines. This Custom Shop Dream Machine 2 is from 1996 and originally had a different configuration than the guitars from Knopfler. He has an alder body combined with a birdseye maple neck that has a surprisingly beautiful drawing. In addition, this Schecter is equipped with gold hardware including Kluson tuners and three strap buttons. The old owner installed a MKguitars pre-loaded aluminum pickguard with MKguitars Haussel pickups in this Dream Machine, which are accurate replicas of the Schecter F500T pickups, which mimic the sound of the Straits' Making Movies album. The pickups are switchable by individual 3-position switches. These Haussel pickups have two coils and thus two options where just the inner coil can be activated or both coils can be activated. The player can switch between a typical F-style sound and a hotter and thicker sound that sounds just like the early Dire Straits albums. This Schecter Dream Machine from 1996 is in excellent condition, is very clean for its age and is really close to near mint. There are Some minor and shallow traces of use on the back and sides and a few small traces of use on the sides of the pickguard. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
