Selmer / Eddie Freeman Special Tenor Gypsy Guitar / 1935 / Guitar

This is a rare chance on a original Selmer Eddy Freeman Tenor guitar, tuned the way Eddy Freeman would have tuned it. This guitar comes with a complete history: The guitar was up for sale in January 2016 in Örebro, Sweden, and that was the first time this all original Selmer Eddie Freeman Special Tenor guitar entered the vintage guitar market. This guitar is mentioned in the Selmer Book by R.F. Charle, serialnumber: #334 was manufactured the 19th of July in 1935 and originally offered at the music shop Birger-Steiner in Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish guitar player Adils Jansson passed away long ago. He was a proffessional musician living just outside Örebro in Sweden playing in and around Stockholm with different orchestras. He played guitar and mandolin as well as tenor guitar, and he bought this guitar new at Biger-Steiner back in 1935. Many years after his dead, his son brought the guitar to auction after serveral years of ownership. The guitar was up for sale in January 2016 in Örebro, Sweden, and that was the first time this Selmer Eddie Freeman Special Tenor guitar entered the vintage guitar market. It is a lightweight 4 string Tenor guitar of wich are not many left, most of these were converted to D hole 6 string guitars. But this one is still the original tenor 4 string, including the label, the tailpiece, the endpin, the bridge, the tuners, frets and fretboard and the headstock with the traditional Henri Selmer Paris logo and the "Eddie Freeman Special" model logo. This guitar is in good restored condition, and is extensivly repaired by our workshop, it has 2 professionally repaired cracks in the top, we have reset/corrected the neck with the ebony layer under the original board, a relatively large maple Butterfly shaped Patch is covering a hole in the endpin area, we decided to leave it as is, since repairing would be risky due to the construction of the tenor guitar. The guitar has been refinished by hand at one time, also It has been played a lot, but is very well taken care of. The ebony skunkstripe indicates a correction of the neck at one point. Comes with a newer case. Sold in consignment.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
