Sergei De Jonge / Ayden Hodgins Model / Guitar

Sergei de Jonge is world renowned luthier who is based in Quebec Canada who has earned a reputation for building amazing guitar both steel- and nylon stringed. He is considered one of the most important and influential luthiers worldwide. His instruments are comparable with instruments from big names such as Linda Manzer, Michael Greenfield and Jeff Traugot. Many players worldwide love the appearance and versatility of his instruments, they have the unique quality to perform equally well with fingerstyle, flatpicking and strumming.  The talent for building high-quality boutique instruments runs strong in the de Jonge family. We've seen instruments from a number of Sergeis offspring the past couple of years and this time it's his grandson Ayden Hodgins -son of Joshia- who team-built this instrument with his grandfather. Although this is in all aspects a true "de Jonge" guitar both in looks and sound, it has a distinct tonal personality all it's own. A funny little detail can be found on the inside of the top where it not only says the date, but also "Hello There".  This Ayden Hodgins model, as we have called it, uses the "Standard" body shape which is falls roughly in between an OM and Dreadnought with nicely silked mahogany for the back and sides and a truly breathtaking bearclaw Adirondack spruce top which is both a rarity and a treat to behold. The forward-shifted, non-scalloped bracing of the top provides extra stiffness and rigidity which culminates into a tight bass response, just the right amount of overtones and a truly stunning projection. As we have come to expect from de Jonge guitars, the detailling and finish of this instrument is top notch. It has a beautiful C-shaped mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and bridge. gold Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, mahogany body bindings, mahogany rosette and multi-layered wooden body trim. The guitar was finished off with an almost gloss like Shellac French polish, "Sergei de Jonge style", which means it is absolutely perfect. If this instrument is any indication we cannot wait to see more from Ayden in the future, and the future owner of this instrument will be lucky to have acquired the very first from his hand!  Includes tweed hardshell case. I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out.
