Mid 50's UNIVOX JENNING J6 Tube Keyboard RARE Crocodile Faux Leather Fabric

Very good condition. Every part is clean, especially for a unit of its age. The case has its cover peeling away slightly around as you see in photo. The internal surfaces are in very good conditions with almost no dust, dirt or grime that is common with 60s amps. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition. Made by Tom Jennings (of Vox amps fame), it comes in a faux snakeskin case that houses the valve amp/speaker and keyboard. The keyboard was designed to sit under a piano keyboard - these units originally featured a knee lever for hands-free volume control. It’s very loud, and the bottom end is pretty monstrous. Rocker switches below the keys control various filters/tremolo depth etc: some are more effective than others. The three speed switch to the left is for tremolo and on the right is the switch for high/med/low octaves.

The Univox J6 is a Tube/Valve synthesiser that was designed and built in Dartford, Kent in the 1950s. Very similar, but still different to the Clavioline. There are a series of decay circuits that give it some pre-assigned note envelopes, and also a repeat function can be employed when using the Vibrato tabs, and tabs C and D. Tabs E F G H K L M are all tone filters which interact with eachother in various ways. Tabs A and B are Vibrato width / intensity switches. On the right there is an octave switch - it will move up one and down one. The J6 also allows for a sub bass tone to be added, as well as various percussive envelopes. A volume knee lever fits in underneath the keyboard and we also have a custom built stand for this one so it can be played as originally intended.
