DY91 is a dreadnought guitar with steel strings and gold-plated hardware. It sports non-cutaway design and fully acoustic construction. Has abalone all through out the binding and inlays and headstock. Is made of Hawaiian Koa wood back and sides with spruce sound board. Top panel is equipped with ivoroid and abalone binding combined, black plastic pickguard with characteristic shape and double circle rosette. Regular-shaped bridge installed on the top is made of ebony. Ebony is also a standard material for Yairi fingerboards. Fingerboard on this model is equipped with 20 frets, diamond inlays and 1-11/16" string nut. Neck is made of mahogany and it is attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint.
Handcrafted in a traditional Japanese mountain village workshop under the personal guidance of master luthier Kazuo Yairi, Alvarez Yairi guitars are made with extremely choice tone woods. The exotic laminated side and back woods and fine-grained solid spruce tops are naturally air dried and sculpted with individually hand-shaped bracing and dovetail neck joints. Yairi's brilliant design innovations include an extended neck tenon for a wider range of rod adjustment and no neck/body irregularities.
