Zerberus Guitars / Hydra I / 2017 / Gold Leaf Plated 24ct / Guitar

Today I´ve got a very special offer.
What you see here is a Zerberus-Guitars Hydra I with real 24ct Gold leaf plating.
This is the only Hydra I that has this special color.
I had these guitars built by a company focused on small custom shop runs located in Korea.
I did not like the color and so I painted it Black.
Belinda, my wife saw the guitars and said: "OMG...another Black guitar? Serious?".
So I asked he to color the guitar in any color that likes.
Belinda was in charge and she surprised me by plating the guitar with real 24ct Gold leaf.
I am not kidding - this is not just some kind of Gold color - it is real 24ct Gold leaf.
It was a hell of a job for me to apply the clear coat, but now it looks like dipped in liuquid glass.
I changed the hardware to Gold and installed a Kammerstein Quadrail at bridge position. That Quadrail can be splitted seamlessly into a singlecoil by turning the knob right at the bottom end of the guitar. And thanks to the quadrail-design it does not have any hum at any position. So this is a pretty versatile beast covered in 24ct Gold.
Meanwhile all the Hydras are gone except 5 lonely Hydras that I kept in my workshop.
I simply wanted to make that Hydra much more versatile and unique than the usual Hydra I guitars.
Thanks to the dual-rail and quad-rail design the Hydra pickups do not have any hum.
The controls are Master-Volume / Master-Tone and Split-Shift for the Bridge Humbucker.
That "Split-Shift" seamless changes the Bridge Humbucker into a single-coil.
Actually it changes the quadrail-humbucker into a dual-rail-singlecoil.
That makes that guitar very versatile and kind of jack of all trades.
Some details:
Tuners: Wilkinson precision locking tuners
Neck: Hard-Maple neck
Fretboard: Rosewood (CITES confirmed)
Scale: 25.5"
Radius: 16"
24 medium Jumbo frets
Body: Korina (White African Limba)
Strap locks
Floyd Rose license tremolo
The guitar comes in a good Zerberus-Hardcase and with a certificate.

Some words regarding CITES: Since January 2017 the new CITES regulation regarding all Rosewood subspecies is in order.
That means that all kind of Rosewood now is under CITES II protection what means that every guitar that has a Rosewood fretboard needs documents to prove that the Rosewood on the fretboard is legally imported and harvested or pre-convention stock (date of acquisition prior to 02.01.2017).
Each export of a guitar with parts made of Rosewood now has to be reported to the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. It usually takes approx. 5 days up to a week until the CITES documents are sent back by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.
Of course I am sorry for that delay, but this is necessary to prove that the Rosewood is legally imported or pre-convention stock. By the way: guitar branch only processes 0.02% of all Rosewood that is deforested.
So if you buy this guitar, you should be aware that I will not be able to send it the same day.
We will have to wait for the documents first.
But with this documents you will be able to prove that your guitar does not contain any illegal material. Preservation of nature is very important.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

If you have any question, please feel free to ask and I will be at your service.
Best regards,
Frank

All custom guitars are completely made by only one luthier - ME.

Zerberus-Guitars is some kind of a One-Man-Show and it´s only me in the workshop.

I do all the works - drive arround to find amazing long time stored lumber - saw out the bodies and necks -shape that all by hand without using CNC machines - equipp the hardware - install the electronis - paint the guitars and so on......I also take the photos and make the website.

No step of my work is done by someone else.

That makes the guitars very unique.

Building such a handmade unique specimen takes at least 6 months.

For making my custom guitars, I don´t use computer controled CNC-machines.

I do all the routings and carvings by hand and so I am not restricted to any standard designs.

I come from a very musical family.

My grandfather played trumpet in a band and my father is a professional rock´n roll guitarist in my region.

On the other hand my ancestors have been very skilled craftsmen who worked as makers of wood cartweels (Grand-grandfather) and wood barrels (Grandfather).

My father does not have a hand for woodworking :)

But he is a lifetime Rock guitarist.

So in my person the two rows come together being a rock guitarist that also loves woodworking :)

I have inherited some woodworking tools from my grand-grandfather that I still use when building my handcrafted custom guitars.

When I was 14, I have built my first guitar with the help of an old luthier.

Later in 1992 I had my own design company and I specialised in guitar design (have played in several bands this time).

Later in 2002 I founded my very own guitar company Zerberus-Guitars and fullfiled one of my biggest childhood dreams with that.

Is it your dream to own an instrument that is the only one of its kind on the planet, as individual as you - the owner, an instrument that is lovingly handcrafted, using selected timbers and the finest hardware, to satisfy your very own aesthetics, needs and personal preferences?

In my Custom Shop, I specialize in carefully hand-building the kinds of guitars and basses that reflect the DNA of their players. I do not employ CNC-machines which mechanically churn out half-finished guitar bodies every few minutes. By contrast, all carving, assembly and finishing is performed by one skilled craftsman, so that my guitars can not be clones of any models made previously.

Each instrument leaving my Custom Shop is a unique specimen.  And not being restricted to proprietary designs, I am able to develop very individual guitars and basses in response to the originality and inspiration of our clients.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.
