Pretty interesting electric guitar, designed by Henry Dmitrievich Kolikovym and a half decades without any changes form the Moscow Experimental Factory of musical instruments from around 1974 to 1981.
The body guitar, somewhat surprisingly reminiscent of a rudimentary form of the swastika, made from the usual domestic gitarostroeniya joiner's board based on softwood and covered with polyester varnish. Grief has no anchor, but at the expense of small bore (610 mm) and construction (Swap Five maple bars) quite successfully resists bending (generally the neck bears a strong resemblance to becoming modern ELGAVE Leningrad RHYTHM SOLO). Absolutely flat strip of white pear marked pillboxes offset at the 12th fret, and is equipped with thin frets from a pretty soft alloy with a very high copper content. Attaching the neck - with four screws through the tin label information. Single splitting - standard production Alapaevsk Metallurgical Plant, on the two sides. The main attraction ELGAVY - the nut: it is a metal plate L-shaped profile, is pivotally fixed on re neck and resting the middle to end of the adjusting screw, set perpendicular to the plane of the head, and having the back of the hat three centimeters in diameter, with a notch on the edge . Turn this hat, you can raise and lower the nut, turning an ordinary electric guitar in Hawaiian.
"B" index in the tool name indicates the presence of vibrato made based on sets FENDER Jaguar. (In addition to the MEFMI model produced ELGAVA identical described, but equipped sufficiently simple hook-bracket and had to re fingerboard inscription "Uniqa-2"). Bridge wood, plastic bone, unfastened on the body, consisting of two halves, separated by adjusting nuts, allowing to rebuild the overall height of the strings. Swivel average diameter, resembling the profile puts on Czechoslovak guitar Jolana.
The circuit mounted on pikgarde, rather crudely carved out of white plastic and consists of two height-adjustable Tula singles (apparently, at the very first instance sets Leningrad pickups "9 rubles" for acoustic guitars, then Lyubertsy were chronologically), plug dual lighting switch, the general tone and volume knobs and sockets SG-5. String grounding is not provided, as well as in the doubles to ELGAVE buff Roden.
ELGAVA-B causes mixed feelings. On the one hand, very high seating neck (heritage is placed on the early series of unmanaged sensors) makes the sound of the guitar rather box-like and does not allow to set a sane distance between the strings and pickups, which naturally reduces the exhaust, and mounted on a plastic pikgard bridge is not the best It affects sustain. However, compared to many other Soviet electric guitars, ELGAVA-in is convenient and aesthetic - no worse than the cheapest models of Japanese 60s, which she, of course, inherit. In general, the guitar is quite suitable for funk, netyazhёlogo Hardy, surf and garage rock.
